Who We Are
The African American Youth Leadership Conference
"Helping young people to make good things happen in their lives."
The Uplift Foundation proudly supports the African American Youth Leadership Conference — a powerful annual event designed to educate, empower, and inspire the next generation of leaders. Focused on academic excellence, cultural pride, and personal growth, the conference provides students with access to workshops, mentorship, and tools for success. By investing in today’s youth, we’re building confident, informed leaders for tomorrow.
Donate & Make a Difference
When you give to the Xi Pi Uplift Foundation, you’re not just donating — you’re investing in the future of a young student, supporting vital health initiatives, and strengthening the community right here in the Pikes Peak Region. Every contribution — big or small — goes directly toward our scholarship programs, youth development events, and charitable outreach efforts.
About The Program
For the past 15 years, The Uplift Foundation has been a significant sponsor of the African American Youth Leadership Conference (AAYLC), in terms of both financial and active participation. The African American Youth Leadership Conference, since its inception on January 16, 1993, continues to be a hallmark forum in addressing many of the challenges facing African American youth during their progression to adulthood. The Conference primary sponsor is the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., who in turn, enlists the expertise and leadership of all who are dedicated to furthering the education and intellectual potential of our youth. The mission of AAYLC is to educate, empower, and enlighten youth to become critical thinkers, responsible citizens and embrace the traditions, histories, and cultures of their communities. The intended participants are students of all ethnicities from 6th – 12th grade.
In recent years, Colorado College has also collaborated with the myriad of sponsors and contributors in ensuring the students receive the utmost accommodations (Colorado College campus) and Mentors for the day. The Uplift Foundation through the Omega Men of Xi Pi Chapter provides ‘hands-on’ classroom instructions, workshop presentations, and general administrative and leadership roles as necessary towards ensuring that the annual Conference is a success.
How We Impact The Community
With a strong foundation in service and leadership, we strive to create lasting change by helping young people make good things happen in their lives.
We’ve awarded over $328,000 in scholarships and grants to local high school students—helping them take their first step toward a brighter future through higher education.
We believe lasting impact starts at the local level, and that's why 100% of our efforts are focused right here at home. We're proud to serve, support, and uplift the very community we call family.
As the charitable arm of the Xi Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., we carry forward a legacy of brotherhood, leadership, and community uplift—impacting lives with purpose and integrity.
